Furry Friends

Elvis Is Still In the Building

Some kids are always picked last. Elvis, the two-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound, is feeling like an unwanted teammate, and it is completely undeserved.
Last year Elvis was rescued out of the street, starving, lonely and missing the pads on his paws. He acted like he had never known a toy, and while in the care of Animal Compassion Network he has gotten to know the joys of being a big puppy.

During his past year and half with ACN, Elvis has also wiggled his way into the hearts of its volunteers. ACN members have started a campaign to get Elvis adopted, by posting flyers, printing ads and even adding him to their e-mail signatures.

But Elvis is still looking for someone to pick him first – to want him as their own friend and pet. This ACN favorite plays hard, runs hard and loves hard, and is just waiting to hear his name called, so he can finally feel like part of a family. For more information on Elvis call 258-4820 or visit online animalcompassionnetwork.org.

Meet Marco

If dogs have boyish grins, then Marco surely has one. Although this cute Corgi mix has been homeless for two years, his zest for life is evident everyday.

He greets visitors to the Animal Haven sanctuary with a howl and a wink. When people talk to him his bushy tail beats like a drum. When he’s not doing laps in the yard like a greyhound, he’s content to be kenneled as long as he has a view of the world.

Marco is a big dog in a small 35- pound frame. He’s very social, loves other animals and is great with kids. He is approximately 2-years old. Come on out to the Animal Haven farm and meet Marco. He’s sure to win your heart!
